Kathryn Pokalo, the founder of Pleasant Valley Textiles, has long enjoyed working with fibers and textiles. She learned how to knit at 13 when visiting friends in England. Then, a high school friend taught her how to crochet. While Kathryn was exploring and experimenting with ideas for a small business that would combine her interests in textiles and creating something useful by hand, she learned about, went to see, and subsequently purchased a feltloom, a needle-felt machine designed and manufactured in Kentucky. Pleasant Valley Textiles offers hand-made objects that are useful, pleasing to the eye, and pleasant to touch.
You can view a vast selection of Pleasant Valley Textiles accessories in person at The Baltimore/Washington International Pen Show 2023.
