For many of us, the magic of fountain pens lives in that perfect moment when nib meets paper and everything simply flows. With modern pens, that experience feels familiar and accessible. But when it comes to older and vintage pens, some collectors hesitate, unsure if they will write as beautifully or reliably.

The truth is, vintage pens are not relics. They are living instruments. Many offer expressive nibs, responsive flex, and a character you simply cannot replicate today.

Join us for a special Vintage Edition of Pen Shows After Dark, featuring a smorgasbord of pens made before the year 2000, all available for you to try. This evening is about building confidence with older writing instruments, developing rhythm and muscle memory, and discovering how these classics can sustain your creative inspiration over time.

Expect hands-on exploration, knowledgeable enthusiasts eager to share insights, lively conversation, and, of course, a few delightful surprises along the way.

This is a social event and it is recommended that you bring your own refreshments. The purpose of this event is to create a positive experience to bridge the gap between modern/contemporary and vintage/old pen enthusiasts and collectors without the dynamics that sometimes play out on the pen show floor.

All vintage pen enthusiasts are invited to exhibit parts of their collection (perhaps ten to twenty pens are various makes) for which they are comfortable allowing fellow attendees to use without concern of “something happening” or the need for instructions.
